Interns

This program may offer an internship to individuals who are currently enrolled in an accredited school and are working towards an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree. Interns may be placed in any Orange County office. Every effort is made to place an intern in the specific job field that is directly related to the major field of study. Interns carry out research and analysis projects on a wide range of issues under the direction of senior staff members.

Interns are encouraged and expected to inquire into important issues, initiative improvements, and suggest new approaches and directions. They staff administrative and citizens committees and attend Board meetings. They also may attend local and regional professional meetings and conferences during the year, where they meet with government employees from throughout the nation.

The internship is designed to attract, develop and retain innovative people in local government.

Internships are ongoing. We typically do not offer "summer" internships, nor internships that are limited to the timeframe of a semester. Internships may be paid or unpaid. Current salary ranges for the paid positions are generally $8.50 to $13.00 per hour, or higher depending on experience and job skills required. If you have any questions please call Sally Lassalle, 407 836-5819.

If you are interested in applying, you must email your resume to sally.lassalle@ocfl.net as an attachment in either Word or PDF format with the following information:  Name, address, email address, telephone number(s), complete outline of work experience, skills, and college major, include school name, and expected graduation date.  Be sure to include all computer applications that you are knowledgeable in using.  Faxed or mailed in resumes will not be accepted. If you are interested in interning for the County Attorney's Office please view the Legal Internship Brochure (PDF - 482 KB).
